1733 is a detail-heavy design and manufacturing outfit based in Chicago. Our collaboration churns out a material focused take on the classic barrel duffle. Built using triple-layer construction starting with a Saltex Nylon shell, cotton batting mid-layer, then lined with a 400D Packcloth interior. Finished with a 2-way YKK Aquaguard zipper, mil-spec nylon webbing, and hand-tied 275 paracord zipper pulls.
Saltex Nylon is a special variant of Japanese Nylon that is denser, more rigid, and has an organic texture and appearance. This effect is achieved by heat treating the fabric after a salt bath to compress the weave. When exposed to humidity the material will loosen and become more flexible and return to its original state in normal conditions. A DWR coating provides water resistance.
